NO RULES, JUST STITCHES
(3 Hours) This improv introductory course uses both rulers and templates along with improv piecing. It is intended to transition students from traditional piecing methods to improv.
Skill level is beginner, but students must know how to operate a sewing machine and use rotary cutters and rulers.

Supplies:
Gallon bag of scraps
½ yard solid fabric
FPP newsprint
Half Rectangle Triangle ruler (I can provide a freezer paper template, if needed)
Basic sewing supplies
building on tradition: log cabin exploration
(4 Hours) This class allows students to explore several different piecing techniques.
Skill level is beginner, but students must know how to operate a sewing machine and use rotary cutters and rulers.
Marketing Description
Dive into the timeless art of creating log cabin blocks. This class includes step-by-step instructions and techniques that will elevate your quilting skills. The piecing techniques we will explore are fussy cutting, improv piecing, chain piecing, traditional FPP, and freezer paper FPP. You will leave with log cabin blocks that finish at a variety of sizes and be able to put them together in a cohesive design. Great stash busting project.
Supplies:
Gallon bag of 1 ¼” strips
Sandwich bag of strips in variety of widths
Ruby Star Society Ten Years of Magic panel (or other motifs that can be fussy cut into sizes: 1½”, 2½ “, and 4½”)
FPP templates (provided by me)

(3 Hours) This interactive class allows students to gain color confidence while exploring color theory

(3 Hours) In this class, students will learn how to make traditional quilt blocks using improvisational piecing. They will also learn how to put it all together in a mini quilt.
Skill level is advanced beginner. Students must know how to operate a sewing machine and use rotary cutters.

In this fun and liberating workshop, explore ruler-free techniques to make traditional quilt blocks. You will build your confidence in making creative decisions during the piecing process, including fabric/color selection, layout, and stitching. During this class you will create a mini quilt.
Supplies:
1 yd neutral fabric
5- 7 fat quarters (at least 2 should be neutral, but not same as the 1 yd.)
Basic sewing supplies

(3 Hours) In this course, students will learn how to make arches using the 6-minute circle technique from Dale Fleming.
Skill level is intermediate. Students must know how to operate a sewing machine and use rotary cutters and rulers.

1/2 yd background fabric.
2-3 fat quarters
Freezer paper (on a roll or the sheets made for printers)
Drunkard’s Path or quarter circle templates (I can provide if needed)
