I offer a variety of in-person and virtual classes for quilt stores and guilds. Below are descriptions of my favorites! If you are interested in more information, contact me.

Upcycled Denim Jackets

Students will learn how to add quilted elements to their favorite (or thrifted) denim jacket. There are two options. With the mini workshop, students will add a log cabin block to the jacket back. The full workshop allows students to add a custom design to their jacket with a cuff option.

Students must be able to operate a sewing machine and have basic sewing skills.

Cooking with Leftovers

This fun, fast-paced class is an intro to improv piecing using a cooking theme. Students will cook (piece) with leftovers (scraps) to create tapas (small) quilts. Using scraps is a great, low risk way for students to experiment with improv!

Students must have basic piecing skills.

Learn all the scary things

This intermediate level workshop is based on my pattern, Neptune Star. Students will make one 22” block that can be used as a wallhanging or pillow front. Students must have basic sewing skills and experience with rotary cutting with a ruler. They should have made at least one quilt prior to class.

Concepts learned include:

  • Fabric selection

  • Freezer paper templates

  • Working with bias edges

  • Y-seams

  • Curved piecing

  • Managing multiple, bulky seams
