I’m so excited about the release of my pattern, Neptune Star, this summer. This pattern was inspired by a vintage, handsewn quilt I inherited from my mother-in-law, Elsie Garner. The piecing appeared complicated to me, but I was determined to make it using a sewing machine. On March 1, 2023 (her birthday) I had the idea to make the blocks simple and large with a modern twist! (I’m pretty sure it was a nudge from Elsie.) The magic of this pattern is each star has 5 center squares that allow for endless design possibilities. I don’t know much about astrology, but Elsie was a Pisces. The planet that rules Pisces is Neptune which represents intuitive and inspirational energy. I could not think of a better name for a pattern that inspires creativity!

Each block measures 22” and the quilt is modular - you decide how many blocks to make for the size quilt you want to make! With this pattern, you will learn easy ways to do complicated techniques like Y-seams, bias edges, curves, and multiple seam intersections with video tutorials throughout the pattern.
